It is a minimally invasive procedure that uses radiofrequency energy destroy the endometrium. A slender wand is passed into the uterus through through the vagina and the cervix. Your doctor will then expand the end of the wand to confirm to the inside of the uterus. Radiofrequency energy is then delivered for about 90 seconds. The wand is then slowly collapsed and carefully removed from the uterus.
In most cases, women can return to their normal activities the next day. The treated uterine lining will shed, like during a period, over the next 7-10 days.
